For Your Peace and Well-being

It’s been a difficult year, riddled with uncertainty, unease, and unrest. As a life coach and business consultant, I’m painfully aware of the anxiety many of my clients are experiencing. And with the election around the corner, I’m concerned about the friction we all feel and its potential to tear families, communities, and our nation apart.
How can we expand our ability to listen to the other guy and allow people to be who they are and believe what they choose to believe?
That’s usually easier said than done. It can be tough. I get it.
And it’s unquestionably a lot harder for some than others.
The Dalai Lama has been in exile in India for over 60 years after the Chinese invaded his country. And yet, he recites this prayer every single morning, directing it to the very people who have kept him from his beloved homeland and family for six decades.
If he can offer this prayer of love and forgiveness, I think you and I can too. I’m asking you to try it.
Bodhisattva Prayer for Humanity
“May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.”
Now, exhale. Be still for a brief moment. Then, go forth and send out beams of peace and love today … and every day.
All the best,
Denise
