Let’s Get Real About What It Really Takes!
I got this in my mailbox recently. I’ve copied it verbatim.
“How To Easily, Quickly & Consistently Generate Enough Clients Every Month To Scale Your Coaching / Consulting Business From Zero To 6 & 7 Figures In 6 Weeks Or Less”
Really? From zero to 6 & 7 figures or more in 6 weeks OR LESS!
7 figures is over a million dollars. 6 weeks is … well … 6 weeks.
Yeah, right.
Look, I don’t want to be a party pooper, but if you believe that, I’ve got a great deal on some oceanfront property in Nebraska.
As a business coach and marketing strategist, I see this stuff all the time. The hype isn’t always this egregious, but the headlines all look the same.
You know the ones. They come from those big name coaches making big bold promises for their high dollar group coaching program where you may or may not get what you really want and need.
And, I’m willing to bet with near 100% certainty you probably won’t get to 6-figures … $100,000+ … in 42 days or less, unless you’ve discovered some magic pixie dust that’ll materialize new clients by the handful!
As a business coach, I know what it takes to grow a business. After I became a coach full time, I managed to replace the income and benefits from the good paying job I left in a year. And I doubled that the next year.
So, if you’re diligent, organized, and following a business building program known to work … using high touch strategies and not Social Media wishful thinking … you can be at, or most of the way to, 6-figures in a couple years … maybe a little less.
But while we’re being real, let’s look at the other side of the equation as well.
A lot of people believe building a business takes 3-5 years. I hear clients say it all the time. That’s just not true either. Don’t make it hard.
It just doesn’t… and it shouldn’t. If it’s taking that long, you’re doing something wrong!
Bottom line: Fantastic possibilities exist for your business. Nothing is better than having your own successful business when you make a good living helping people get the services they need.
But building a business isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme, and it shouldn’t be a multi-year slog either.
Be honest in your own marketing efforts when it comes to the promises you make and serve everyone the best you can. That’s how you earn respect, build your reputation, and attract clients quickly!
And honestly evaluate the promises of those you’re considering entrusting your marketing dollars to, and it’ll work out fine over time. Just maybe not in 42 days.
If the promises make it sound as if you’re gonna hit the jackpot, you might be better off trying your luck in Vegas!
Best Wishes,
Denise
