Stop It!

I’m guessing most of you know about the Pig of Happiness, but if you don’t, you’ll find the short video instructive. The Pig’s message is that you have to think and do certain things to keep a positive, uplifting vibration alive on an ongoing basis.

Let’s focus on the doing. So, what do you need to do to get / keep your mind, body, and spirit in a place that feels good and empowering? To get more technical on you, what do you do to induce a positive change in your mental, emotional and physical state?

But just as important … maybe more important … is what you might want to stop doing?   You know, like complaining, or obsessing over mistakes you’ve made in your life, or worrying, or beating yourself up, or clinging to some hurt from the past.

Because if you don’t stop doing the stuff that brings you down, it’s pretty hard, if not impossible, to dwell in the realm of the good, the happy, the hopeful, the uplifting, and the possible.

So, take a moment and think about it. What are you doing, what are you thinking, what emotional baggage are you holding onto that bums you out? What fears do you keep dredging up to spook yourself? What persistent complaint are you not letting go of?

I can’t lose weight.

I should have accomplished more … in my day and in my life.

It’s always something!

I’m afraid of failure, or success, or getting old, or missing out, or being alone, or getting sick.

The other kids made fun of me and called me names when I was young.

I’ll never have any money.

We all have ‘em. And some are more serious than others in nature. I get that. You can understand how someone who’s been injured, abused, cheated, mistreated or otherwise had it rough, might dwell on the injury, abuse, mistreatment, etc., even though dwelling on it doesn’t help. I don’t want to minimize the hurt. I’ve been there. I’ve been widowed twice.

But I’m really talking here mostly about the things we grind away on almost reflexively on a daily basis that get us down.

If you’re ever going to be really happy most of the time, you have to let that stuff go. Maybe more to the point, you have to train yourself, you have to discipline yourself to let that stuff go. Let it go!

When you feel yourself going there, STOP IT! Just don’t allow yourself to go to that place. Don’t indulge yourself in misery. Think about something else, distract yourself, do one of the things you do to keep your vibration elevated, but the thing you have to do first is … STOP IT!

Love,
Denise
