Your Life From Good To Great!
What if I told you I had a magical daily practice that’d significantly change your life? Well, if you’re anything like me, you’d be at least a little suspect … wondering what I might be trying to sell you! I get it. But, I’m not trying to sell you anything! Because of the life and business coaching I do, I’m just always on the prowl for ways to make my clients’ lives better. And when I find something, guess who else benefits?
You do! And I do, too.
What I want to give you today is absolutely free and you can use it immediately.
First, some set up.
I’ve tried for years to meditate consistently … to have some spiritual practice I do regularly. But in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, each practice inevitably fell away. Sound familiar?
Recently, I found a book, The Miracle Morning, where the author lays out the concept of Life S.A.V.E.R.S. The book isn’t very well-written, and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but his Life S.A.V.E.R. concept caught my attention. It outlines a 60 minute daily ritual, much like Tony Robbins’ Hour of Power, where you dedicate some time to each of the following:
Silence
Affirmations
Visualization
Exercise
Reading
Scribing
It took me back to that first year of my practice when I did something like this every day without fail. And even today, I’d point to that ritual as the number one reason why I built a full practice in less than a year!
So, I … not a morning person … took his advice and started setting my alarm an hour earlier to carve out the time. I started taking that 60 minutes pretty consistently, and it was good.
And then, something special happened and it all fell into place.
I was doing a complimentary coaching call with a wonderful woman from Nashville TN. Although she wasn’t a solid match for the business coaching I offer, we were so sympatico.
She told me about a book called, The Magic. It’s the third book in The Secret series. It outlines a truly magical daily practice I’ve taken completely to heart.
Every morning, I write about 10 things I’m grateful for and WHY I’m grateful for them. Then, I go back and re-read my list, getting present to each item, and say, “Thank you, thank, you thank you!”
Every night in bed, I go back through my day and think of all the things I’m grateful for. Then, I choose the one thing I’m most grateful for that day and say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
That’s it. A total of 15-30 minutes each morning. And five minutes at night. These are the anchors for my day.
I’m now on day 167. Yup. 1670 things I’m grateful for.
Most days, I write in my journal. Other days, when I’m sitting on the beach in our place in Mexico, I create my list on an app on my phone. If something prevents me from my morning writing, I do it in my head … in the car … in the shower.
If something comes up during the day that throws me off my game, I drop back and concentrate on something I’m grateful for.
This practice has created miracles showing up all over my life! It’s brought me:
- Answers to thorny questions … ones I’ve been asking for a solution to for several years.
- A corporate job that was immensely satisfying as well as profitable.
- More clients and an increased sense of satisfaction in the work I do.
And more than anything, it’s brought me more peace, more joy … and a sense of overall well-being I’ve never had before!
As my partner, Tom, said to me one day, “I don’t know exactly what you’re doing, but keep it up!” I think it’s working vicariously for him, too!
As we enter this time of Thanksgiving, when we’re reminded of all the blessings in our lives, I encourage you to make the giving of thanks more than a one day thing.
Make this daily practice an integral part of your life and see what magic happens for you!
Love,
Denise
