Three Stories that Change Lives

Why do people do what they do with their lives? Truth be told, a lot of people stumbled their way into their present circumstances without a lot of thought or intention involved.  They do a job.  They get paid. Many, though, are drawn to a particular vocation because they simply enjoy the work.  It suits […]

Playing for Keeps!

We give advice in these newsletters. Some people follow it and benefit, but many just take it in and do nothing. They don’t translate that advice into action or a changed way of being. Is it because they’re resistant to the message?

Not at all. Quite the contrary.

Being a Yes!

It’s a delicate balance.

Every day presents you with so many choices. When to say “yes.” When to say “no.” When to say “maybe” and put off deciding.

The right choices are often not all that clear, and yet, as it was for the traveler in Robert Frost’s poem … The Road Not Taken … the path you choose can make all the difference.

I’ve Seen Me Do It

There’s a funny bit comedian Ron White does that centers around some misbehavior on his part. Many of you have probably seen it.

It’s something he knows he shouldn’t have done, but he did it anyway. And he basically says, “If you put me in that situation, don’t expect me not to misbehave.” He knows himself. He has the evidence.

Hence the memorable tagline … “I know, I’ve seen me do it!”

Escape … Decompress … Restore

In our last Life Lessons letter, I told you about a way to find a little peace and relaxation in this crazy go-go world by listening to recordings, sold under the brand names Holosync and Hemisync, that quickly produce a meditation-like state.  We were delighted at how many of you went right out and tried them and how pleased you were with the results!

If you want to escape, decompress, and restore your life balance and energy in a short period of time, they’ll do the trick.

I want to reveal another favorite magical technology of mine this month.

The nice thing about this one is it’s free and really effective.

Patience Is Overrated!

Albert Einstein … we all know his name and a few things about him, but what you might not know is that his approach to physics was supremely creative and imaginative.

He was once asked how it was possible for him to uncover the mysteries of the universe when others were blind to what he was seeing.

He answered that he questioned the axioms of physics that were handed down to him rather than assuming they were valid. By doing so, he was able to think in a free and unconstrained manner. His unconventional thinking turned the accepted scientific understanding of his day on its head and radically changed our understanding and experience of the world forever.

So, what does that have to do with us?

I’d Suffer Less

A client recently asked me, “Knowing what you know now, what’s the one thing you’d do differently in your life?“

I thought about it for a moment and then blurted out:

“I’d suffer less!”

If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Tampa

Readers of a certain age will recognize the title as a play on the name of a movie from 1969 about travelers on a whirlwind, 18 day tour of Europe.

I can relate, as I’ve been on my own whirlwind tour of the US. Since January 21, I’ve spoken to 10 wonderful groups in the following cities:

Philadelphia … Sarasota … Orlando … Tampa … Minneapolis/St. Paul … Richmond … Raleigh … San Antonio … Milwaukee … Sacramento.

And when you get this, I’ll be in St. Louis.

Hold the Vision … Trust the Process

I hear two voices.

One is confident. The other scared.

One believes. The other expresses doubt.

One sings. The other whimpers.

One voice belongs to an adult … the other to a five year old.

The voices are my own.

My Little Ballerina

Delight!

What a great feeling. Don’t you just love to be delighted?

And wouldn’t you just love to live a delightful life … to arrange your time on earth so that it’s full of simple pleasure after simple pleasure?
